The delegation of Bahraini-Turkish businessmen led by Mr. Khalid Abdulrahman Almoayed, Co-Chairman of the Bahraini side participated in the 3rd meeting between both sides in Istanbul from 28th April to 3rd May 2008 during the visit which continued for 6 days. during the visit, the 3rd meeting between Bahraini-Turkish businessmen was held. A film showing investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Bahrain was shown in the meeting as well as another film about investment in Turkey. The Turkish side was led by H.E. the Turkish Minister of Economy who thanked Mr. Khalid Almoayed for his efforts in economic co-operation between the two countries. He also thanked all the speakers for the information given and expressed the interest of his Ministry to support and facilitate all issues. He pointed out the recent increases in the volume of trade exchange and wished to hold further meetings. After that, the head of external economic relations Ms. Rona Yircali delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Bahraini delegation and wished that their visit would be fruitful and that both parties would gain benefits such as taking advantage of the investment opportunities in both countries. After that, Mr. Khalid Alomayed, Co-Chairman of the Bahraini side delivered a speech in which he pointed out the development process under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Also, he focused on the visit of the Prime Minister, H.H. Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to Turkey where the Prime Minister met with the Turkish Prime Minister and he confirmed that it was a very positive visit and the focus in their discussions was on increase of the trade exchange volume and seeking to achieve the goal of the leaders of both countries. Mr. Khalid Almoayed also pointed out to the financial benefits and international agreements of the Kingdom of Bahrain which makes it the destination for many business specialists from all over the world. He conveyed the regards of H.E. the Bahraini Minister of Industry & Commerce to the Turkish Minister. He also observed that Turkey is a country with a civilization and a great history, a country looking forward to the future and compared it and found it to have similar qualities to Bahrain. He noted that both countries should seek to benefit from these similarities. The Turkish Ambassador to Bahrain indicated that although Bahrain appeared small in size, it is quite big as a banking and financial centre. He indicated that the Common Gulf Market has entered a new stage towards transformation. He wished that Free Trade Agreement would be s start to promote trade between the Kingdom of Bahrain and brotherly countries. He said Bahrain has a solid foundation and promising investment opportunities which Turkish people should benefit from. On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation took part in the Turkish Building Exhibition in Istanbul and attended several economic activities and they also met with H.E. The Honorary Consul of Bahrain to Turkey, Mr. Abdulla Al Tefinkly and the delegation was invited during his visit to a dinner banquet, and luncheon during their stay. |
