BBMA made a business trip to india upon an invitation from the confederation of Indian industrialists with the aim of activating the joint memorandum of understanding signed in 2004 and to follow up the efforts of the Bahraini leadership for developing the Bahraini economy. The visit took place from 23rd April to 1st May 2006 and included visits to both Bombay and New Delhi.

The visiting delegation held a number of important meetings, the most important of which was meeting with the Minister of state commercial affairs and a visit to the offices of CII in Bombay and New Delhi, UTI, ICIC Bank, Indo-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Indian Chamber of Commerce. The discussions during these visits dealt with prospects and opportunities of investment co-operation.

BBMA Chairman praised on behalf of the delegation H.E. Eid Al Qahtani, Bahraini Consul in india for accompanying the group and for the tremendous efforts made for ensuring the success of this visit. Mr. Almoayed also thanked CII for their efforts towards the success of this visit and extended to them a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain as soon as possible for finalizing the vital issues of their discussions.

Participating in the delegation were Mr. Jawad Al Hawaj, Mr. Kishore Kewalram, Mr. Mubarak Al Noaimi, Mr. Bob Tucker and Ali Abdul Husain.
